As previously announced, SPring-8 operations will be suspended for approximately one year, starting in August 2027 to allow replacement of the storage ring as part of the SPring-8-II upgrade. Following the shutdown, commissioning of the accelerator and beamlines will begin in early 2029. After the commissioning and the test operation period, SPring-8-II will commence user operations in FY2029.
Accordingly, the Call for Proposals for the 2027B proposal period and subsequent periods will be suspended. A detailed schedule of SPring-8-II operations will be announced later. We greatly appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
